How to remove Bios password from this or similar motherboard( bios file is for theis model only X9DRi-LN4F+ , you will need the correct one for you model)
Download Rufus and make a bootable Dos USB key
or if you already have a bootable USB key you can use that also
Then from supermicro site download the bios for the X9DRI (It's also the same bios for X9DR3)
It's a zip file so uncompress it to a folder and copy it to the rufus usb stick root directory
you will see a few files of which one is
and one is X9DR3P8.523
once done, boot using the usb stick, when the supermicro boots it gives you a boot option, or just let it go through without doing anything either way you want it to boot from the USB stick and get to the prompt
c> or d> what ever it comes up as
there enter ami.bat x9dr3p8.523 ( there is a space after ami.bat)
And not this will take you thgrough the process of loading the latest bios, when it finishesh, power down computer, take power cord out, take battery out, and short the bios clear terminal using a screw driver to short it.
put the battery back straight away, power it
Password is gone! will boot straight to ami bios and "del" key will take you to the bios.
Rufus is here!
Bios live here!
